Symposium Moor 1992
July 1st - 31st, 1992

Symposium Moor 1992 was an International Festival of performance & site-specific work on the Wittemoor, a state nature preserves in northern Germany. This project was conceived and organized by Insa Winkler and Jörge Haberland and was made possible by national, state, & local grants as well as corporate funding and in-kind donations from Germany. John Sturgeon's participation was made possible, in part, with a travel grant from Arts International, The Fund for U.S. Artists at International Festivals and Exhibitions, (USIA, NEA, Rockefeller & Pew).

In addition to the extensive video documentation of the participating artist's site specific and performance works, John Sturgeon’s participation in Symposium Moor 1992 included the following solo and collaborative performance & video works: NARKOSE, Moor Battery, Falling Moor and Fishing Moor.
