Inside Out utilizes camera generated imagery, digitally processed material, computer graphics and animation to investigate an internal sense of the boundaries of - self. This poetic piece explores the inner sense of time and the temporal sense of the persona, as we attempt the balance of self-image with the projection of self.
The video combines studio and performance sketches with self-reflective monologues and vivid camera-verité sequences shot on location in Montevideo, Uruguay. The computer graphic technologies used are primarily Amiga with DigiView/camera interface and extensive utilization of a Fairlight CVI.
VIDEO

there are limits, edges
sudden boundaries
a parenthesis to individuation
things change -
and on, and on
we glide, endless
and infinite
within ourselves,
changing
(chorus)
time is just
passing,
just slipping away...
time is just
passing,
just slipping away...

mirrors all around
the mind is doubled
more, like a Möbius
why do we question
what comes before
or when's the relief?
the meal is left for the phone call
relationships stiffen into photographs
we all wait, alike
for the boarding
clutching, even in conversation
memory's endless escalator,
passing -
being covered by
the discarded maps
& past addresses
& leftover dreams,
like our strong,
young days
at the beach.

Believe the way the road holds
both the sun and shadow,
Believe the way the weight balances,
corrects, continually adjusts
Believe the way the footsteps,
re-aligns direction - walks on.
breathe in - breathe out -
Stand -
Unafraid at the edge,
the Breathtaking Beauty
of the Balance.
